AFM – Air Fleet Management

AFM is an application software based on modern web technologies and relational databases, designed for the technical, logistic and operational aircraft management.

The use of the software at several aeronautical operators has required, over time, implementations and improvements of functions and management modules. This has made AFM suitable for heterogeneous technical and operational needs and make it a versatile management tool, suitable to support any type of aircraft and can be integrated with the management software supplied with the new aircraft generation.

The wide range of functions offered by AFM includes flight activity planning and management, fleet management and technical-operational scaling, predictive maintenance analysis, inventory planning, control and management, and staff training management.


«AFM» is a software structured in operational modules, independent and integrated with each other, which allows constant interaction in real time among users, providing an overview constantly updated of the management information.






The Maintenance Module allows the Operator to plan, oversee and manage the technical-operative activities and, in particular, the continuous airworthiness management and the configuration control of aircrafts and components.


Planning and management of mandatory maintenance and airworthiness prescriptions in accordance with the rules of the Regulatory Agencies and the provisions of the Manufacturers.

Configuration control

Tracing and application of technical documentation related to the configuration evolution of aeronautical material, necessary for their design, manufacture, maintenance, use, modification, storage and logistical support.

Technical publications

Recording and revision of the technical documentation applicable to the aircraft, of the rules and mandatory provisions, definition of Maintenance Programs, management of Maintenance Procedures.

Digital flight logbook

The updating of operational data of aircraft, components and equipment is guaranteed through filling out of the Digital Flight Logbook, helped by the integration with the on-board electronic systems.

Predictive analysis

Maintenance transactions are supported by predictive functions through which the Operator can schedule and coordinate inspection packages, A/C ground time for maintenance and ensure an adequate fleet scaling.

Fault Logbook

The Operator can record and handle faults and functional anomalies reported by the Aircrew and technical personnel and manage the Work Cards required to restore the original operating condition.

Order and work reports

Mandatory maintenance, airworthiness prescriptions and all preparatory activities for configuration control and aircraft technical-operational management are supported by functions for the production, handling and historicization of Order and Work Reports.

Qualifications / Type ratings

AFM allows the user to record, update and check the qualifications and type ratings of the technical staff through functions and panels dedicated to the management of specialist registry and training profiles.


Through the statistical area, integrated on request by a B.I. system, the Operator can collect, consult and print the data related to the technical-operational management of the aircrafts and to the technical-maintenance predictions.

Flight Operations

Flight Operations module allows the Operator to plan, coordinate and manage the flight program and the activities related to it.
  • Planning, authorization, updating and closing of the daily flight activity
  • Updating of the Flight Logbook in digital format for aircrews
  • Planning and coordination of operational activities (events, aircraft, human resources)
  • Entering and updating the Aircrew personal data
  • Entering and updating Aircrew qualifications and type ratings
  • Planning and coordination of the role of staff (institutional activities, planned absences …)
  • Recording and coordination of related Flight Safety events
  • Analysis and printing of statistical data related to the flight activity

Stock control & Planning

It allows the Operator to aeronautical Operators to plan, control and optimize the stock through an advanced ERP that, ensuring the automatic management of all processes, allows the reduction of global response times and the reduction of financial and logistical costs thanks to an effective forecast analysis tool based on the “LEAN” model.


Work orders and material requests are the basis for information on the supply chain; both are essential for aircraft maintenance and contribute to the planning of the managed needs of the MRP module.


During the launch fase of the ERP, the system verifies each element determining its availability, freeing up any available material or proposing the supply of unavailable items or the necessary services.

Quality control

The procedures to receive, inspect and accept the material follow a documentary and quality control procedure at the end of which the articles are made available for the inventory management process.


The queries of the logistic module, allow a quick identification of the location, details, status of the items, accounting data related to the logistic movement history, tracking of transactions to users and any warehouse criticalities.


Through the statistical area, integrated on request by a B.I. system, the Operator can consult and print all the data related to the logistic-accounting management of the fleet.


Procurement management, which aims to reduce the costs of storing goods, takes into account commitments by analyzing needs based on time of realization and delivery This method, known as eMRP, allows to reduce the Work in Progress times.


eMRP allows an analysis of the item situation against all the «REQUIREMENTS» that produce the handling of the materials and calculating, on the time axis, the quantities in «Entrance» to satisfy all the requests.

Calculation needs

The requests, considered in the calculation of the needs, produce an ENTRANCE or EXIT movement of the material, updating the inventory quantities of the Warehouse.

Structure of requests

The elements supporting the calculation of needs are as follows:

  • Type of request: (Scheduled, corrective or unplanned maintenance, Recurring consumption, Withdrawal requests, Work Orders, Purchase Orders, Requirements)
  • Required items: P/Ns; Spare parts; Material to be treated;
  • Required quanties;
  • Delivery/Withdrawal date.

Qualifing and type rating of staff

It allows the Operator to plan and manage instructional and training activities, both theoretical and practical, aimed at achieving or renewing qualifications on aircraft and equipment

  • Definition of Training Plans (Courses Catalog).
  • Participant registry.
  • Registry management of Courses and Teachers.
  • Course planning, Syllabus application, flight activity management.
  • Resource management (Classrooms, Aircraft, Simulators).
  • Report and performance statistics.
  • Management and issuance of Certificates.
  • Renewal management of Licenses and Type Ratings.

Flight Safety Events

The module allows the user to coordinate the Flight Safety Events inserted by the aircrew and technical personnel, the technical investigation and to record the causal factors.


Creation of drafts of Flight Safety Events by the aircrew, confirmation and saving, event authorization and forwarding to the competent authorities.

Technical Investigations

Creation of independent Technical Investigation as well as analysis of the reports created by the aircrew.

Causal factors

Insertion of causal factors and correspondences with similar events.

Mailing List

Forwarding of event results/investigations through the approved Mailing list.

Coordination Area

The Operator can manage records and apply the procedures provided by the Organization.

Audit & Statistics

The Operator can consult the historicized records, apply the search filter and examine the statistical data.
